Barlow's Store Renovations

After two weekends of busy bees, the Narembeen Town Team and a group of Narembeen volunteer super stars completed renovations to the empty shop front at ‘Barlow’s Store’, the first shop built in Narembeen in 1921! The team gave the shop front fresh paint and placed Narembeen historical photos in the windows.
The Narembeen Town Team brought new life to the historic Barlow’s Store through a series of community busy bees, supported by the RAC Connecting Communities Fund. Over two weekends, local volunteers came together to refresh the empty 1921 shopfront with fresh paint, historical photographs and simple placemaking improvements that celebrated the town’s heritage and identity. By rallying community members, sharing resources and working collaboratively, the project transformed an underused space into a welcoming and meaningful feature for the community to enjoy.
