Every safer street begins with an idea.
Every community has people who notice the little things that could make a big difference. A street where traffic moves a little too fast. A crossing that doesn't feel safe. A route that could make it easier for children to walk, people to ride, or neighbours to connect.
Those ideas matter.
That's why we're proud to deliver our Streets Alive program that is offering up to $100,000 grants to help communities turn local ideas into real projects that make streets safer, slower and more welcoming for everyone.
Applications are open from 3 August to 11 September 2026, for community-led initiatives that improve road safety and encourage more people to walk, ride and wheel with confidence.
If you've got an idea, or you're wondering whether an idea could become something bigger, we'd love you to join one of our free Information Sessions.
With a choice of online and in-person sessions, you'll learn how the program works, what makes a strong application and how funding can help bring practical road safety projects to life. You'll also have the opportunity to ask questions, hear from the Streets Alive team and gain the confidence to put your best application forward.
Whether you're part of a Town Team, community group, P&C, not-for-profit organisation or local government, these sessions are a great place to start.
- Thursday 23 July - 4:00pm to 5:00pm at Kendenup Agricultural Grounds, Kendenup WA (In-Person)
- Thursday 30 July - 12:00pm to 1:00pm WST Online Webinar
- Tuesday 4 August - 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Hillview Intercultural Communnity Centre, Bentley WA (In-Person)
Real change begins with people who care about the places they live. If that's you, this is your opportunity to turn a local road safety idea into something that benefits your whole community.
Register for an information session, explore the Grant Guidelines and start planning your application. Big change often starts with local people taking the first step. We'd love to help you take yours.
