I want to be part of the change I want to see in the world. I love helping people to create positive civic, social, economic, environmental or organisational change. Some of the things I’m doing about this are:

• Co-Founder and Executive Director at Doing Co (formerly Town Team Movement)
• Creator of Placemaking.Education
• Board Member at the Launceston Independent Food Enterprise (LIFE)
• Co-Instigator of the Tasmanian Alliance for Placemaking
• Help the aspiring Tasmanian Academy of Visual Arts
• Help the GroWaverley Town Team
• Help registered Town Teams outside of Western Australia and South Australia
• Part of the informal Jackeys Marsh Landcare
• Previously on the boards the Great Regional City Challenge and Launceston Central

I’m also part-owner of community-owned forest in Tasmania that is slowly regenerating former farmland into wet sclerophyll forest.

I shifted from being an urban planner working in local government and local doer volunteering in my local neighbourhood to being a Doer, Dreamer, Enabler and Connector of people and ideas. I work in the gaps in between:

• People and places
• Local governments and local communities
• Community organising and action
• Top-down and bottom-up
