Outcomes Report

2. Changing attitudes and behaviours Through using the road environment for play and seeing these benefits, participants were challenged to think about how our streets could be different to make them more suitable environments for children to play independently.

Changes in attitudes/behaviours reflection toward road safety: Lots of great conversations occurred on the day with neighbours from beyond our street coming along and meeting new families in the area. Conversations related to the role of streets, appropriateness for them as places for children to play etc and what we all as individuals and a community we can do to make a difference. Boy across the road asked for a climbing ladder to be put in the verge tree and father has now installed it. My kids have had increased social connections with other kids in the neighbourhood since the event.
