Doing

Skate Park Safety Revamp in Koorda

To improve local amenities for youth in the town, by reinvigorating the existing skate park with new designs, additional furniture, solar lighting and bike racks. A key focus of this project was to encourage safer behaviour and skating away from the road.
  • Worked with local primary and high school students, parents and community members to gather ideas for improving the skate park and creating a safer, more welcoming youth space.
  • Reimagined the existing skate park with new designs, upgraded ramps, additional seating, solar lighting and bike racks to encourage skating away from nearby roads and improve safety.
  • Collaborated with local contributors including Daz, who helped turn community ideas into reality, and Gwenda, who supported preparation works and painting alongside local young people.
  • Delivered the project through strong community participation and support from the RAC WA Town Teams Program, culminating in a community launch event to celebrate the revitalised space.
