Kardy Connect will initiate a project to enhance active travel in Kardinya by researching local roads and connections. Local champions from each of the four areas will help engage the community and gather insights on popular routes and safety issues. The resulting map will highlight safe routes, distances, and local tips, focusing on routes to schools to be launched during Bike Month. The suburb of Kardinya is split into four areas by two 70km roads – North Lake Road, a local road owned by City of Melville and South Street, a State road.

Our focus, the most popular routes from each area of Kardinya to the local school and neighbourhood centre.

Our initial consultation has identified risky crossings and streets of focus for our research phase that are highlighted on a mud map and include:

North Lake Road 70km Prescott Drive 50km Le Souef Drive 50km Gilbertson Road 50km Hall Place 50km Ochiltree Way 50km

Our project is not limited by these streets and we expect our research to reveal broader snap shot of the opportunity, and how we best focus our attention.
