BeeScene

The West Perth Native BeeScene is a community driven initiative supported by local, State and Federal governments to bring Native Bee-themed street art, native flora beds, sculptures, upgraded seating, lighting and most importantly Bee Hotels.
Located in beautiful West Perth, adjacent to Kings Park, once completed the Native BeeScene will not only make West Perth a more vibrant place to visit, but will also become Australia's first urban native bee village. Several installations are completed already, with a major program of improvements on the horizon.
  • Brought together local residents, businesses, environmental groups, artists, and local, State, and Federal government partners to create a shared vision for a greener, more vibrant West Perth.
  • Focused on transforming underutilised public spaces into pollinator-friendly environments through native planting, public art, improved lighting, seating, and streetscape upgrades.
  • Celebrated the importance of native bees by incorporating educational elements, Bee Hotels, sculptures, and bee-themed street art to encourage community awareness and environmental stewardship.
  • Built momentum through community-led collaboration, partnerships, and staged improvements, helping establish the West Perth Native BeeScene as Australia’s first urban native bee village and a unique destination connected to nature and local identity.
