- Purpose & how to use: A how-to for the "walkshop" — a mini walking-tour-meets-workshop in a street or place. Use it to spark conversation and surface ideas for improving a place without needing a venue or big budget.
- Who it's for: Town Teams, community organisers and place facilitators.
- Key points: A walkshop typically runs for one to one-and-a-half hours and covers half a kilometre to one-and-a-half kilometres, with a few pre-planned stops but enough flexibility to follow good ideas. After meeting at an easy-to-find landmark and opening with an Acknowledgement of Country, the host facilitates discussion on streets, shopfronts, blank walls, parking, footpaths, connections, "curious" places and vacant spaces. A great opening question is "Whose responsibility is it to create great places?" on a 0–10 scale, and the walk wraps up with a reflection on what people learned and how they can contribute.
